Jungle Jim: El Dorado

Jungle Jim: El Dorado Slot Review

Jungle Jim: El Dorado is a sequel to another slot machine from Microgaming, called simply Jungle Jim. It’s a much more modern title, especially if you compare it with the first game, but it keeps the same focus on an adventurer that discovers treasures in a South American jungle. El Dorado delivers 25 active lines each spin, with 5 reels used in total. It will have Rolling Reels among its features, along with multipliers that go as high as 15x, free spins, scatter symbols and wilds. The top jackpot gets to a maximum value of $45,000.

About

Jungle Jim: El Dorado is a sequel to another slot machine from Microgaming, called simply Jungle Jim. It’s a much more modern title, especially if you compare it with the first game, but it keeps the same focus on an adventurer that discovers treasures in a South American jungle. El Dorado delivers 25 active lines each spin, with 5 reels used in total. It will have Rolling Reels among its features, along with multipliers that go as high as 15x, free spins, scatter symbols and wilds. The top jackpot gets to a maximum value of $45,000.

Betting requirements

You don’t have to spend a lot of money in this game if you don’t want to, but you still need to invest $0.25 each round, at a minimum. That amount will allow you to have 25 lines active, with wagers of $0.01 for each one. The way to increase the wager, along with the value of the prizes that will come your way, is to have more coins used per line (up to 10) and bigger denominations for them (up to $0.10). You can wager at most $1 per line, or $25 total.

Theme & Design

For the theme of the game, Microgaming chose to rely on an idea that many others have had, using as a main character an adventurer that might remind you of a younger Indiana Jones. He’s looking for treasures among the remains of an ancient civilization from South America, and the game shows him in the middle of a jungle ruin. The hero, Jungle Jim, seems to have discovered a place of great wealth, the symbols on the reels showing different types of gemstones in uncut form, along with images of objects from the civilization that left them behind. I quite enjoyed the graphics of El Dorado, both on and off the reels. The jungle shown behind the reels looks majestic, while closer to you there is Jungle Jim, posing for the camera and doing a couple of animations that repeat for your benefit from time to time. There are no Royals inside, the lower paying symbols being the uncut gemstones, which at least look like they belong in this case. Visually, I think that El Dorado is a worthy sequel to the original Jungle Jim, and Microgaming did a good job in bringing this title to our times.

Special Features

Microgaming has a couple of games that are very similar to this one in terms of gameplay and features, but I can’t say that I mind since the game is exciting to play thanks to them. One feature that will prove to be very profitable for you will be the Rolling Reels. This feature brings you additional winning combinations, by replacing the symbols from existing wins with new ones. Consecutive wins that come through Rolling Reels will have increasing multipliers, getting up to 5x by the fourth roll. The free spins multiplier is applied to the Multiplier Trail as well, as you will discover below. The more regular symbol of those with extra abilities is the Jungle Jim Logo, which you get to use as a wild. This symbol substitutes for other symbols, regular ones only though, helping them form their combinations. The requirements for a combination still need to be met, but the wild can act as one of the symbols needed, and that is going to come in handy quite often. The first three reels will be able to host scatter symbols as well. If you have these symbols on all three reels, then they will give you 10 free spins and a reward of 5x the wager. The free spins can be retriggered and have a multiplier of 3x applied to both regular and Rolling Reels wins. That way, the wins won in free spins are worth anywhere between 3x and 15x what the paid spins will deliver. As for the location, it is moved inside the jungle temple for the duration of the free spins.

Jackpot

The symbol paying the most is the Treasure Chest, a regular one that can pay up to $3,000 normally, up to $9,000 during free spins, and up to $45,000 if the Rolling Reels contribute as well. It’s a game that pays within the usual range with which Microgaming has gotten its players used to. With an RTP of 96.31%, it is an average game for them, but many other developers don’t offer this much.

Conclusion

Jungle Jim, in its El Dorado variant, is a good game, with high end graphics and exciting features that rely on big multipliers and Rolling Reels to improve the game for the player. Overall, I enjoyed playing on it and I think that it has enough to offer to be a valid choice for you as well.
