Wild Wolf

Wild Wolf Slot Review

Wild Wolf will be the kind of slot machine with a Native American theme and with a focus on a wild animal, a wolf in this case. It’s not a new choice that IGT has made with this slot machine, the casino world offering plenty of examples of such games. There are multiple options actually that are focused on wolves alone, and unfortunately most of them have the same average looking graphics as Wild Wolf does. The game might not dazzle with its graphics, but at least you will have 50 lines and chances to win, when you spin those 5 reels. Expect tall reels though, so the lines are not as crammed together as I’d want them to be. Besides the features offered, things like stacked wilds, scatters or free spins, Wild Wolf also has its top payout to entice us with. It’s only going to get up to 1,000 coins though.

About

Betting requirements

Wild Wolf gives you at most 50 lines that you can use. You can use them all if you want to, and I’d recommend it, but if you can’t afford to cover all of them then you can deactivate some of them. You can have 1, 5, 10, 20, 30, 40 or 50 active lines. The line bet is the only other choice you have to make in the game. Bets start at $1 and go up to high roller level if you can afford that.

Theme & Design

It’s obvious what the theme of Wild Wolf is about. The symbols found on the reels are going to be split between the Native American ones and the ones which have wolves of different colors. The last ones on the list are going to be the poker icons, and they’re going to be the least fun ones to look at, even in this game, which is definitely not a looker. The wolf howling at the moon is the first symbol to be had in the game, one of the two which you use to trigger a feature. The second one shows you a Dream Catcher and a Bonus logo. The other symbols give you two wolves (black and brown) and two wolf totems. The other half of the paytable has only crude looking poker icons unfortunately. The entire design is lacking, but that seems to be the case with most slot machines which sport this theme. It’s probably more about the fact that the games are older, than it is about the theme they approach.

Special Features

The Wolf Howling symbol is a big one to have in this game, the stacked wild that you will be able to include in any winning combination that uses regular symbols as well. The wild symbol is going to be more than capable of paying you by itself, and it actually has the best payouts of this game when landing on the reels in the right formation. Up to 1,000x can be won with its help. The rest of the time, the Howling Wild is the regular substitute that you can have in winning combinations. On the other hand, the game also has Bonus Dream Catcher symbols, which you land on the middle three reels only. When you’re lucky enough and you land them on all three reels, you’re going to be rewarded with 5 free spins, plus a small prize that is worth the equivalent of 2x the bet. I haven’t found anything extraordinary in the feature section of Wild Wolf. The features that are offered here (wilds, scatters and free spins) are available in 99% of the modern slots released these days, and oftentimes they look a lot better.

Jackpot

The jackpot is just as uninspiring as the rest of the slot, with a maximum possible return of 1,000 coins if you hit the right five symbol combo. You don’t have any multipliers or other situations to improve this number. The average features and low payouts conspire to bring us a pretty low average RTP. The paytable indicates that it varies between 92.99% and 94.97%. Even if it’s the latter that you’re getting, it’s still not good enough for the state of the current online casino industry.

Conclusion

When you put it all together, I can’t find a single good reason to play this game, except if maybe you’re a really big fan of wolves or of Native American culture.
